Zune HD hands-on shows what we'd love WinMo 7 to look like (and the price is right)

Dear, Microsoft and hardware manufacturers: Please make the Windows Mobile 7 experience this good. We mean it. This is spot-on. And at $220 for a 16GB version and $290 for 32GB, you can't beat the price. Nailed it.

Impressive! Would love to see similar UX on WinMo 7. Hopefully we won't get disappointed :)

Holy shit! They need to make this into a commercial. This shows how bad ass this player really is.

Wow. I wish Windows Mobile (er, Windows Phone) looked as slick as this. Definitely tempted to get a Zune HD now. This thing /really/ makes my Zen Vision M look ancient.

i want one so bad.
if WM7 is this good i'm buying without in a heartbeat

I, for one, hope that some of these features trickle down to the current Zune OS. Some of these things are out of reach, such as the browser, but many of the transitions and features that this new device have would not be difficult to implement in Zune OS 3.2, or even 4.0.

WOW WOW WOW

where can i pre-order?

wainting for this bad boy to get into the stores. Luv this device.

Someone start a petition. Seriously, you add phone and messaging capabilities to it and I'm sold!!!

This is why I believe with v7 of WM we're going to see MS hedge its bets and go with a software-only OEM flavor as well as their own proprietary hardware version that's focused heavily on gaming/media (although still offering all the basic email, apps, etc functionality you'd expect.) I'm thinking we're going to see something more than just a 'Zune phone' but a full on mobile compliment to the Xbox - that'll also be available in non-phone flavor. This is why Danger was acquired. To bridge the gap between the already great stuff the Zune was building and leverage the massively growing ecosystem of users the Xbox has already built.

Unfortunately, I don't think the latter will be available for us SERO users as that's just too hot a device. But I know that (nearly free) ride has to end eventually anyway. ;)

Smooth and amazing - WM7 should be like this so bad

did you see how quick the screen rotation was :O

this product looks amazing and i literally want one

We have been abused far too long with 6.x

does anyone know how this compares with the next generationof ipods?

Expect the next-gen to have essentially the same features of the 3GS:

3.2MP Camera and the faster processor.

Essentially its a thinner 3GS with no 3G. I don't think its going to get the ear piece speaker either, but I'm not too sure.

The iPod Touch has numerous feature advantages over the HD, but quite frankly, I have never wanted to purchase one. I do, however, want to purchase the Zune, and definitely will. And most features can be introduced via software. Besides, the Zune has a size advantage that the iPod Touch cannot compete with. It is tiny compared to the over sized (now apparent) iPod Touch.

The presentation of the interface in that video is the best I have ever seen in a media player.

Looks cool! However, I'm not going to carry this and a phone. Microsoft, get on with it!

yes, the zune hd ui looks great.
but i´m not sure if this is the right ui-concept for windows mobile 7. why? cause i think the level of customization will be highly limited. especially when you compare this ui with for i.e. the new htc sense or android interfaces....

and: do you think someone still will say "WOW" when they present wm7 a few months after zune hd was launched with the same ui?!

Well chances are we'll see WM 7 (Windows Phone) on more than just MS devices.

According to a press release I just received today at 4pm there will be a conference announcing MS in an alliance with Nokia, so maybe we can see this UI on future Nokia devices too.

Wow the Zune HD is really impressive.
I can't wait for WM7 now. If it is anyway close to as smooth as this Zune OS, it'll be amazing.

I think the new Zune is beautiful. I would totally get one if I didn't already have an iPod.

The thing I like best is that you don't have to have iTunes to use it.

Very nice looking device. Can someone tell me what HD radio means?
