AT&T Tilt 6.1 ROM Update: Go Get It

Just like we told you, it looks like HTC's Software Download page for the AT&T Tilt is today sporting a new option: Windows Mobile 6.1:

Downlolad AT&T Tilt Update - Version 3.57.502.2
AT&T Tilt Windows Mobile 6.1 Software (ROM Version 3.57.502.2 WWE)

We're grabbing it now and it does indeed look like that earlier confusion about listing 6.1 to download but actually only giving you an older version has passed.

You can expect all the standard 6.1 improvements: threaded SMS, slightly better ActiveSync battery life, and so on. HTC / AT&T are also throwing in Video Share (still one way though, of course. Come on AT&T) and the ability to finally remap that Push-to-talk button without hackery.

I have heard rumors that the internet connection sharing application was going to go missing with this new rom. Anyword on that?
@ dhummel.

I haven't heard anything about that nor experienced it. I actually had this ROM on my Tilt a couple of days ago from a leaked version no issues here.

Note to everybody flashing this ROM

This ROM actually contains radio 1.65.21.18, so don't be surprised when you see it on your phone.

Happy flashing.
It wasn't missing, it was just hidden. If you selected "Clear Memory" to reset the device to the factory default state and then rebooted the device when it says it is installing applications then it never gets hidden.

I just installed the new rom and sadly rebooting the device when it begins to install AT&T's crapware doesn't work. Doing so only results in it clearing memory and starting the initial setup all over again.
Figured it out, you have to reset the device as soon as you see the desktop for the first time. once you see that the programs are about to install it is too late.
If you happen to depend on the Blackberry Connect software for the Tilt, don't install this ROM yet. There is an incompatibility issue between Blackberry Connect 4.0.0.97 and WM 6.1. The word from AT&T is that HTC is supposed to release a fix but has not yet done so.
An update to my previous comment. It appears that Blackberry Connect 4.0.0.100 works with this ROM. This can be downloaded from sems.org.
