BlackJack II Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM Update is Up -- For Real This Time

Casey writes in to let us know that the on-again, off-again download page for the Windows Mobile 6.1 Update for the BlackJack II is on again -- this time with live links for Windows Mobile 6.1.

As always with any Windows Mobile ROM update, be sure you have all your apps ready to re-install and all your PIM data ready to re-sync. As always with BlackJack updates, the process is a briar-patch filled with modem downloads, pitfalls, and convoluted instructions, so set aside a good hour at least to get it done.

Thanks, Casey!

So excited...flashing right now...
Already flashed and I am liking it. Seems now, apps like GoogleMaps and Garmin Mobile XT acquire a signal in a matter of seconds instead of minutes. Its amazing how fast it acquires a signal.

I hate all the demo games they added, though!
i am trying to upgrade my wifes blackjack ii but the installer gets to the second check about active sync and usb. and then tells me s/w wrong version and check device. what do i do i cant find anything to refer to this. please help
FINALLY! I've been bugging every Samsung and AT&T rep I know for months to no avail and on a whim, I just checked back here and it was ready! Woohoo! Flashed it 20 minutes ago and so far, it's been worth the wait, if only for the added bonus of MS Voice Command (for which I was about to shell out $40)
AlphaDaddy, could this be the issue?

"If I Have x64 bit Edition for Windows Vista, Is The Downloader Tool Compatible With My OS?

* No. The x64 bit architecture requires separate modem drivers that are not available."

possibly OS compatibility should be at the top of the page, not the very last line...how is it that software is still released neglecting x64 support? Will have to sync and use my work pc.
This is working pretty well for me. I agree on the comment regarding GPS - Garmin Mobile XT is working much better for me now. This may be a dumb question, but how do you use Voice Command? When I open the program, I see the screen that lets me change the settings, but how do I actually use it for voice dialing? Any help is appreciated.
This update DOES work with Vista 64. I upgraded my Blackjack II last night with zero problems.

woodtull: to use voice command you hold the AT&T globe button for a few seconds

Will this update process work for me in Africa (Ghana)? Does anyone know how I can change the default connection to a local operator to access internet on my fon here in ghana.
