GPS Config for BlackJack II and Q9h (and others)

We earlier mentioned the “must-install” app for the BlackJack, the hack to assign GPS to COM4. There was another one for the Q9h (the BlackJack version killed connectivity on my Q9h - beware!), but Paul of MoDaCo has discovered a better solution all around. The solution, a GPS config utility, just like your big brothers on WM Pro devices get:

It turns out that a GPSID configuration utility that exactly mirrors the Pocket PC version is nestling away in the 'Tools' directory of the Windows Mobile 6 Standard SDK Refresh! If you're a BlackJack II owner, a Motorola Q9H owner or basically anyone wanting to configure GPS on a Smartphone, then you NEED this utility! - MoDaCo

So it's good news and bad news. Bad news first: “you NEED this utility,” as in “the carriers are still locking down features and/or Windows Mobile has convoluted GPS implementation.” Good news: we can fix it, we have the technology. Go get it!

So, does anyone know if this will work on the Verizon Q9m??? Thank you.

It should... it sorta depends on how exactly verizon may or may not have locked down gps. On the bright side - this is a Microsoft tool, so it shouldn't do anything bad to the phone.

I don't have a q9m here to test, so unfortunately my best advice is to do a full and serious backup and then give it a shot.
