How To: Customize ATT CV Home Page

0%2C1425%2Ci%3D137513%2C00.jpg A lot of phones from ATT are coming equipped with the new Cellular (former "Cingular") Video. You’ll know if you have it because you phone will usually have an icon which looks like a TV with the letters CV in the middle. Once you launch the application you are presented to the main CV page that has your favorites at the top of the page followed by categories such as most watched, CV play list, Entertainment and so on.

One really cool feature about CV is the ability to customize what favorites you want to see on your front page. Now its customization with limitations. What I mean is that you can only put on the favorite’s page what CV offers you. So if you had dreams of putting your favorite dukes of hazard episodes on the front, you can keep wishing. You might have better luck with the mobile version of YouTube instead.

Once in the main page you want to scroll to the top of the page in the right hand corner and click on the edit button. Then the Manage My Favorites page will appear and show you two things. The first is the favorites you currently have on your main page. The second is below showing channels such as ESPN, CNN, and so on. These are the channels you have the option to add to your main CV page. In order to add a channel simply click on the button to the left of the channel and it will automatically be added. You will know its added if you check the location that says Manage My Favorites and you will see the channel you just added. If you added a channel that you don’t like simply click on the “x” button next to the channel and it’s no longer on the main page.

Maybe you want to see MTV channels before Comedy Central. In the Manage My Favorites section there are arrows pointing up. Click on the button in order to move the channel to the top of the page. Now you can see Flavor of Love before seeing what the weather will be like tomorrow.

I’m using CV on my Treo 750 and find it most helpful when I’m waiting for them to call my number at the DMV or at the doctors office. It’s like my own little way of zoning out and keeping me from going crazy when 15 kids are playing musical chairs next to me. Once thing you want to check is if you phone has a proxy manager. If the proxy manager has a check in it then you have access to CV but if there is no check you will see and error message. So next time you find yourself stuck in a Costco line or at the dentist, click on CV and laugh the time away with Comedy Central.
