Ogg Sync for Windows Mobile

ogg.jpg
If you have Exchange and Active Sync you can now keep your calendar in sync with Google calendar for free. What do you do if you don’t have Exchange? You use Ogg Sync. Ogg Sync lets you keep you Google calendar and Windows Mobile in line so that everything stays in sync.

Ogg Sync has the ability to sync both Outlook on the computer and to Windows Mobile devices. It covers shared, public, private and personal Google calendars. Any changes made on your device will reflect on Google calendar and vice versa. Some of its main features include:

  • Multiple calendar sync
  • Compatible with Exchange
  • Unified view of multiple calendars
  • Full two way, one way, free, busy, and hide private
  • Data protection

Ogg Sync has many features but one that I find very helpful is its ability to sync multiple calendars. For example I have my and my girlfriend's calendar on Google calendar. Once I set Ogg Sync to sync multiple calendars I can select both calendars to sync and within seconds all events are on my device. Then from my device I can filter if I want to view just my events, just her events, or both events. I love this function because it allows both of us to stay on task and eliminates any fights about ware we were suppose to be. Also keep an eye out for the ability to sync Gmail contacts as well. A free trial is ready for download or go ahead and set up the Pro version if you really want to stay in sync.

Nick has a girlfriend?

Actually, it says "girlfriends" ruh oh! lol

I actually prefer "GooSync" because it has a funnier name.

Well that and for us WM5 users, it doesn't require the (imo) god-awful .NET CF 2.0 which Ogg needs...away with you .NET requirement!

For Mac users I recommend Spanning Sync - it's stupendous and well worth the cost.

LOL. I went ahead and moved the apostrophe for the sake of Nick's relationship with his girlfriend -- whichever one that may be. :)

One thing with GooSync, your data resides on GooSync's servers. Which may or may not be a big deal for some people. I prefer OggSync since my data stays on my Google Calendars and mobile device only.

hunh. that's disappointing. I use spanning sync on my mac and I just realized (Because of your post) that I have no idea whether or not they get my data. Hm.
