Yes boys and girls it’s about that time. That time for the long awaited Skyfire to get an update -- it's now up to a 0.6 release. They're still in private beta but we're fairly confident that if you go sign up up for the new Beta it won't take too long to get an invite. Since we first suggested that Skyfire could beat the pants off Safari, we've come down quite a bit -- dig the video above to see what we mean. YouTube video "works," but it probably is going to take some more speed -- either in the form of bandwidth or processor -- for this Treo 750 user to call it good.
In any case, Skyfire is getting closer to being feature-complete, they've added Auto-complete text entry, Paste into URL or search, Ability to delete bookmarks, Multiple zoom modes for touch screen phones, Double tap to Zoom In and Zoom Out, Support for custom virtual keyboards (SIP), and a few other standard features to the mix.
All in all, it’s a pretty nifty little browser, but still definitely a Beta. Is it powerful? Yes. Does it play you tube? Yes. Does it play it well? No. It still has the potential to be a first class browser on full release, finger still crossed.
Let us know what y'all think or if you received the download email.

I just got my beta download invite yesterday for this browser. I've only used it for a couple hours, but am very impressed what it can do. I still find myself, going back to Pocket IE for my sports scores and bloglines account. I'm just glad that the mobile browser app space is starting to get crowded.
