The default media player on PalmOS has long been Pocket Tunes - it's a solid, relatively lightweight app that was the best of the PalmOS bunch, good enough for Palm to put it “on deck.” Given that the PalmOS is going to be replaced within a year by a Linux-based system, it looks like Normsoft has decided to give in to the inevitable and release a version of the same for Windows Mobile. It looks like it has feature parity with the PalmOS version -- namely iTunes sync, internet radio, and compatibility with PlaysForSure subscription services like Napster and Yahoo Music.
We've had a couple questions on the podcast about what the best MP3 player for Windows Mobile is -- we're not about to crown PocketTunes (especially since it doesn't appear to have built-in podcast support), but we're definitely going to be downloading the 15 day trial. Bonus points to Normsoft for having compatibility with both Pro and Standard out of the gate.
