Weekly Software Wrangle - Week 16
Welcome to the Weekly Software Wrangle #16. There's a corral chock full of new, updated and free apps to overview, so pull on your cowboy boots and let's rodeo!
This week, WM Standard new software is Golden Tee Golf and Pinball Evolution. Updated software includes SmartMileage and Uno Free Fall. The free app this week is AIM.
WM Professional new software are WordPlay and Documents to Go Premium. Updated software includes Calligrapher 8.7 and Photo Contacts Pro 5. Freeware is PocketCAS.

WM Standard: New
First up this week for a WM Standard app is Golden Tee Golf (Smartphone) v1.0.8 from InFusio Inc. I spent an awful lot of quarters playing the arcade version with my co-workers years ago.

The next new WM Standard app is Pinball Evolution v1.01 by Limelight Software Unlimited. I know better than to load this app onto my Tilt (very punny indeed, eh?).

WM Standard: Updated
SmartMileage v1.05 by MobileRob is our first updated software for WM Standard this week. For all you road warriors out there, save some money at tax time with this app.
SmartMileage allows you to easily and quickly enter mileage-expense and reason for mileage-expense, for income tax reporting. Dates are automatically entered by the program and reasons can be automatically brought in from the next appointment's subject line in the calendar database. This program will save hours of manually entering data after the fact. You can now enter the mileage while in your car. Imports and exports data to and from other products using a comma delimited file. Saves data as an xml database, thus you can read it by many desktop programs as well.
Trial version will last 15 days and then will expire. Otherwise it is a full featured version.

The free app for WM Standard this week is AIM at www.smartphone-freeware.com.

WM Professional: New
The first new WM Professional application for this week is WordPlay v1.0 by Limelight Software Unlimited. And I thought that writing for a web site was wordplay enough!
WordPlay is a great selection of word puzzles designed to give your brain its daily workout on the pocket pc. Includes: Anagram Of The Day - A Today screen plugin which presents you with an anagram which can be solved by sliding the letters using the stylus; Word Search - A classic game which involves finding a list of words in a grid of random letters; Code Breaker - A crossword type game where each letter of a completed crossword is substituted by a number. You have to crack the code and work out which number is associated with which letter in order to complete the puzzle; Criss Cross - Insert the list of words into a crossword to reveal the completed puzzle; Bits 'n' Pieces - Use the stylus to exchange pieces of the jumbled crossword in an attempt to reconstruct the completed puzzle.

The first updated WM Professional app this week is CalliGrapher 8.7 by Phatware.

WM Professional: Freeware
PocketCAS v1.0.2, a FREE app available for download at freewareppc.com from MrMage, PocketCAS, is a free Computer Algebra System (CAS) offering you quick access to solutions of mathematical problems on your PDA.
Solving advanced mathematical problems is made easy with PocketCAS. PocketCAS is a free interface to the open-source Computer Algebra System giac/xcas. xcas enables you to quickly solve complex algebraic problems, e.g. symbolic and numeric integration and derivation of non-trivial functions, solving differential equations etc.
It has also a huge support for problems of linear algebra, like solving linear equation systems, multiplying and inverting matrices, finding eigenvalues (and eigenvectors, of course) and much more.
