With all the wireless capabilities I wonder why we still mess with all these cables in order to sync to our computer. There has to be an easier way to get our info from the web to our devices. Recently Dieter detailed a great way for contacts and calendar from gmail, but what about cab files? More often then not we can simply navigate to the web site that has a .cab file we want and download it there. Then again if it’s on a big site like WMExperts that page could take a while to load. Dieter mentioned in the WMExperts Podcast how we can use Live Mesh to fix this cable dilemma. Which brings us to today’s tip of the week.
Today’s tip of the week is getting cab files from your computer to your device with no cables.
- The first thing you will need to do is head over to Live Mesh and set yourself up and account.
- Once done set the folders on your desktop you want to sync with live mesh.
- Then browse the web and download the .cab files your want on your phone to a folder synced to live mesh
- Once you have all your .cabs in a specific browser open a browser from your Windows Mobile phone and go to https://m.mesh.com enter your info and browse to the folder with your .cabs
- Start downloading
- Celebrate the fact that you have a persistent spot where all your favorite cab files are easily found directly from your smartphone
This is extremely helpful if your ever lose your sync cable or forget it at home. With a computer and an internet connection your can get your files from your desktop to your phone .
