I smell a horse race, folks, and it's gonna be a good one. Yahoo Go may finally be available on a few WM devices, but Live Search for Windows Mobile (Go, now, and get it: http://wls.live.com on your device) is available on all of them. It looks to be a worthy upgrade, adding movie times to its standard stable of results.

Also new and cool: the GPS integration now automatically recalculates your directions if you stray from the path it set for you. All you need is a bluetooth GPS puck. As in: I can't think of a single reason to pay for Telenav, ever. It's still not as cool at TomTom, which gives you a 3D map and speaks the directions, but it's close.

Version 2 adds a host of new features: Movie Showtimes, More Local Data, Mobile Virtual Earth, better support for GPS integration and improved turn-by-turn navigation.  We’ll even prompt you to auto-reroute if you get lost

Hey Davin -

If lsmobile@microsoft.com is bouncing that's bad news... I guess my next step would be to do exactly what I see you did - comment on Jason Landridge's entry. ;)

2.0 is a huge improvement; however, is anyone else having lock-ups when selecting current GPS location under Choose a New Location? My position is showing fine on the map, so I know my Pharos BT GPS isn't the problem. I am using a Sprint 700wx.
I don't recall having issues, but it would be nice if the BT GPS spec was able to provide a little more information - sometimes it just times out looking for a signal for me and I don't necessarily know if it's the GPS not seeing the satellites or a communication error.

Anyhow, I'd guess that if you're really able to reproduce the error and it's displaying fine on the map you should submit a bug report. Barring that, the only troubleshooting I can think of is a reinstall of both .net compact framework and wls. Ugh.

Dieter:

Thanks for the response! I have been able to replicate the issue repeadedly on two different Treo 700wx's with clean installations of Live Search 2.0. I do not think that the .NET Compact Framework is required for this app, as neither I, nor my wife, have it installed.

Where would I report a bug? I have sent numerous e-mails to lsmobile@microsoft.com, and they have all come back undeliverable. Do you happen to have a different e-mail address to try?

Thanks again,
Davin
