iDiamond: Giving your Windows Mobile Phone an iPhone touch
If for some reason your still considering the iPhone because of its touch screen interface and ability to move around wobbly icons, then you might want to try out iDiamond. D-MAN66 from XDA has been very busy in keeping the power of windows mobile and the easy feeling of only icons. The application brings out full icons, ability to move icons, and add an icon feature. In testing iDiamond, it ran smoothly on both the HTC Diamond and Touch Pro. If you like iDiamond, then you might also want to check out with what D-MAN66 can do with cover flow and music.
Verizon to hold biggest yard sale yet - AT&T Looking for Deals

Now that Verizon has completed their Alltel marriage/merger, they're sitting on a few assets they no longer need -- like an ex bachelor who suddenly realizes a married man doesn't need a Miller Light neon sign. When we say "realizes," we mean "compelled to by federal regulators." When we say "a few assets," we're talking $3 billion in wireless assets. That's one heck of a yard sale.
And, like any good yard sale, the neighbors show up first. AT&T apparently is first in line a wallet full of cash thanks to its recent iPhone and tower sales. Carlyle Group, Kohlberg Kravis & Roberts & Co, and Providence Equity Partners LLC also will be there looking for whatever deals they can get. All of the above, however, have to keep those self-same federal regulators happy, so AT&T will probably find themselves haggling a bit.

Spotify coming with mobile version, alternative to Seeqpod?
Well if Seeqpod can do it surely Spotify can too. Well that's what Gustav Sodersrom figures since they have been such a big hit in Europe. Spotify is a music streaming program that lets you rock out to your favorite tracks over the web.
Dial2do: Another Hands-Free Solution
We recently showed you how to go hands free with Vito Voice 2 Go and many of you use WinMo's built-in Voice command, but both take up quite a bit of RAM. If you're still looking to go hands free and control your phone with your voice, then you might want to try dial2do. Although less robust, it doesnt take up any memory on your phone and is a killer hands free GTD application.
Instead of hibernating on your phone's memory, it's all done in the cloud. Simply call into 12133252615 (usa) and tell dial2do what you want to do. You can say things like text, email, calender and more. Its social friendly, so it works with some of your favorites like Gmail, Evernote, and Remember The Milk. What separates this app from competitors Jott or Nuance? It's free. If your phone is memory sensitive or you just want to control email and others with your voice then dial2do may be worth a shot. You a voice-command junkie? Tell us your solution in the comments.
Windows Mobile Outsold the iPhone on Q32008
Everyone is raving about the sales the iPhone is making and it deserves its props, but its still not putting up Windows Mobile numbers. In fact, during the third quarter of 08 apple only shipped about 4.4 mill iPhones while Windwos Mobile put out a healthy 5 mil. Now, part of the the drop in the iPhone sales is that they may have finally reached all the markets they hadn't yet with the iPhone 3G, so they may be coming close to some kind of geographic saturation.
Windows Mobile 6.5 Spotted on the Exeda
Various leaks of Windows Mobile 6.5 seem to be popping up everywhere. Now it's appeared on the funny looking Compulab Exeda, the crazy little guy that runs Windows Mobile and Android. OK, the phone's not really a looker. But it's the interface we're after here. What we're seeing is a different take on that honeycomb interface, so we're pretty much expecting some variation of that when the real thing's released.
It's possible that this is still an alpha build of the OS, but we're still expecting an official announcement about 6.5 (and all those cloud services) soon at Mobile World Congress. Will the syncing be seamless like Microsoft says? Or will we have just another skinned Windows Mobile phone in our pockets? Let us know what you think in the comments
Qualcomm picks up AMD's Mobile Assets, may hire some AMD folk too
What do you do when you're one of the biggest GSM chip makers out there and one of your sweethearts -- HTC in this case -- starts looking elsewhere (say, nVidia)? Well you you throw on the old spice cologne, get a hair cut, and start acquiring AMD's graphics and multimedia technology assets to improve what you've got.
Qualcomm is hoping this move will provide better 2D and 3D graphics features, as well as better audio/video and display support. This drastic make over wasn't cheap. Qualcomm is dishing out $65 million to AMD for these assets and offering employment to AMD employees that were involved in the new technologies. We were starting to suspect that Qualcomm was letting itself go (so to speak), so hopefully laying out this cash for the proverbial face lift and gym membership will get 'em back in shape.

Video of Fennec on 6.1 Emulator
Playing around with the Fennec emulator has been fun. Its opened our eyes to a whole new way to browse the web from our mobile. Although cool, it really doesn't let us know what the actual application will ultimately look like once on the device. How fast will Fennec be? Is it stable? Will it be another IE?
Open source whiz Gnubeashie might answer some of those questions with an early attempt of what Fennec will look like on 6.1. Keep in mind this is a first attempt (and also just emulation, but at least it's WinMo emulation), but from the looks of it Fennec will be running smoothly.

New to Us: Didiom for Streaming your Desktop Music
One big gripe about our devices are they don't hold enough music. One big solution: get access to the massive library you've got sitting on your desktop. Companies like LobsterTunes and Orb realized that and got a head start on streaming your entire library to your phone. Didiom plans to hop on that bandwagon with a little more oomph.
To begin, its a free download (in beta) that lets you stream your entire music library to your phone over a cellular network. Didiom is hoping that you'll install their software for you own music and then head on over to their marketplace, where they've got a library of over 1.5 million DRM-free tracks. They've also added in something they're calling "adaptive bargaining" where you name what you're willing to pay, Priceline-style, and their "sophisticated algorithm" will let you know if they'll sell at that price.
They just added support for VGA WinMo devices, too. Seems like a decent enough service, though it would be nice if they had a wider selection of music (not that we don't heart CD Baby) and if it worked outside the US.
Video after the break for those looking for more info. Anybody given Didiom a shot?
