Review: Covertec Vertical Premium Case
The Touch Pro 2 is still only a few months fresh and cases for the Windows phone are slowly trickling to market. Covertec offers a premium leather, vertical case that is sized to fit the Touch Pro 2 and Tilt 2 phones.
We took the Covertec Vertical Premium Case out for a test drive with the AT&T Tilt 2 and found it to be a good case for those who prefer to carry their phones in the upright position. The case can also pull double duty as a pouch case by removing the clip.

Out of the Box
The first impression the Covertec vertical case makes out of the box is the smell. The case has that fragrance of quality leather reminiscent of your favorite leather jacket or brand new baseball glove.
The case is well stitched with no loose seams present. The interior of the leather case is lined with felt and the sides are attached with an elastic fabric accented with a strip of leather.
The top of the case is fitted with an adjustable strap that has a magnetic closure. The flap secures in place nicely and secures the phone in place nicely.
Belt Clip
The Covertec vertical case comes with a detachable belt clip. Without the clip attached, the case can be used as a carry pouch to protect your phone in a backpack, briefcase or purse. Attach the clip and it becomes a quality belt case for your Windows phone.
The belt clip is post/clip styled in that you screw in a plastic post into the back of the case and the post slides down into a belt clip. To remove the case from the clip, you press two side buttons that will release the post.
The Covertec vertical case comes supplied with a blade screwdriver, the post, the clip, a washer and two phillip head screws. Yes, the screwdriver does not match up with the screws but it is small enough to work with the phillip head screws.
The clip style may very well be the weak point of this case. There is a narrow groove in the post that has to be lined up with the base just right for proper fit. When attached to the belt clip the case rides securely but it swivels freely. The free swiveling case felt a little awkward at first and I would have preferred to have seen a more stationary clip used.
Fit and Feel
I'm partial to horizontal cases and vertical cases always seem a little out of place to me. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the feel of the Covertec vertical case. Because of the clip size and design the vertical case doesn't carry as close to the hip as other Windows phone cases.
The case did ride comfortably on the belt but it took some time to get used to the larger clip. While I have my reservations about the swivel clip, on the positive, it did allow the case to pivot/adjust with my body posture. Those adjustments added to the comfort of the case.
The AT&T Tilt 2 fit snug in the Covertec case but not too snug. As with most cases that are initially tight, the Covertec relaxed enough where placement and removal of the Tilt 2 was smooth.
Overall Impressions
I found the Covertec Vertical Premium Case to be a quality case for your Tilt 2 or Touch Pro 2 but it's not for everyone. I'm still on the fence about the clip style Covertec choose for this case but if the post/clip style is to your liking, this case will do just fine.
The Covertec case is a very good choice is your looking for a pouch. There's enough padding and coverage to this case to protect it against the bumps and bruises backpacks, purses, and briefcases can throw at you.
The Covertec Vertical Premium Case is comfortable on the hip, well built, and offers a decent amount of protection for your phone. If you prefer vertical cases the Covertec Vertical Premium Case is worth considering.
