Palm Treo Pro

The CDMA (Sprint) version of the Palm Treo Pro has been unlocked for a while now, meaning you can load custom ROMs and, especially, Windows Mobile 6.5.

Uber-hacker cmnoex has released a version of her hardSPL tool for the GSM version of the phone. A slight word of warning, however, from cmonex herself:

OK right now I don't have time for the final tests (am still without a device) but I suppose it works. let me know if it does.

Grab the unlocker at ppcgeeks. Any brave souls out there willing to give it a go? Let us know (and let cmonex know) in the comments. (And don't forget to donate to your favorite chef!)

I am going to give it a try tomorrow, first thing in the morning.

Did you try it? Did it work? Can you post the steps out here for us noobs that want to unlock a (insert family/spouse)'s phone?

"I don't have time for the final tests, but I suppose it works?" Sorry, but I am not that trusting.

I'll take cmonex's best guess over most peoples' facts when it comes to this stuff. :)

No doubt cmonex is a superstar, but writing and dropping a HSPL without a testing device? I know if I had this phone I would be waiting for others to unlock before me to see what happens.

wtf i had this phone for like 3 months and it was AWESOME, the only thing i didnt like was... no roms.

this phone is fantastic, and IMO much better then the new palm pre and all that stuff.

if they advertised this phone more, it would have been a big hit. I dont know how it would not have? its like every other treo... with better specs!

my only gripe was the keyboard was a littttttlee too small, but it really wasnt much of a problem.

The Palm Treo Pro for Sprint offers plenty of features and satisfactory performance, but the carrier's business customers will get a better user experience from the HTC Touch Pro.
