HTC Firestone

Time to play "Real or Not Real." What we have here purportedly is a leaked render of the HTC Firestone. A refresher on the specs we heard earlier:

  • Phone: GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS900, UMTS2100. (That's missing the U.S. 3G band, natch.)
  • Windows Mobile 6.5.
  • 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen.
  • Qualcomm 8250 processor at 600MHz.
  • 512MB ROM/256MB RAM.
  • Micro SD.
  • Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR.
  • WiFi b/g.
  • aGPS.
  • G Sensor.
  • 3.5mm headphone jack.
  • 8MP camera

Of course, all this is far, far from being official. And then there's the latest rumor that the Firestone and the Leo are one in the same, so throw that into the mix as well. Either way, we're not too sure about the offset call/end buttons. And, well, then there's the giant front-facing speaker. We're going to reserve further judgment until things firm up a bit, but you folks feel free to let it all loose in the comments.

The bottom is hideous. It also looks like the last gen devices. This is probably a very early render and not what it will look like.

I don't like how they swapped the END and BACK buttons, it looks ridiculous and would seem unintuitive to use it like that.

Come on HTC at least add the 850 band for us, at the very least.

HTC should make the bottom look like the bottom on the Diamond 2. If HTC would a front facing speaker, then it should be under the buttons.

The design of the HTC Touch HD is great. Why fix it if it ain't broken?

Change the internals of the Touch HD with this faster processor and better camera and call it the Touch HDS!

I like it. I love my Touch HD, but I like the squarer design and makes the iPhones rounded'ness out of fashion

If I were to take a guess, I'd this this is an early render. It seems official, but does not seem production bound.

HTC is only allowed to make ugly Android phones, not WinMo!
; )

Leo is firestone. Its fact

Firestone is going to replace the Touch HD, its fact

The Leo specs does not match the Firestone specs. I think the Leo is actually the Thoth from the HTC 2009 Leaked Roadmap.

Leo roms have been beta, I have seen 4 of these beta roms, and each one for device has Blackstone, because on beta devices they do not worry about updating stuff like that right away, and you need to know where to look.

also Leo has 8GB camera, Leo is Portrait and not Landscape,

Thoth is Landscape and not portrait.

it has been stated that firestone will feature a new manila that is a lot more location aware, leo is covered in files with gps location, google maps built into manila that will map you from current location to your appointment address.

to me i have seen a lot of evidence that tells me leo is firestone.

Ok, I just hope that the correct size of the screen is 3.6 instead of 4.3. A screen size of 4.3 is WAY to big for a PHONE and me.
