Smartphone Round Robin Round Table 2

Posted on Friday, Dec 26, 2008 by Dieter Bohn

It happened live last Tuesday, but you can listen in to the (slightly foreshortened) version in our podcast feed: the 2nd (and last) Smartphone Round Robin Rount Table. Join Casey, Kevin, Rene, and Dieter as we discuss the final two devices in our Smartphone Round Robin: the T-Mobile G1 and the the HTC Fuze. Plus, we answer your questions live -- well, it was live then, so forgive the slightly worse-than-usual sound quality.

Naturally, this is an official Round Robin post, every day you make an entry here qualifies you for a chance to win a Fuze and more. Full details here

That was a great evening! I wish I had had a little more prior warning though... I only caught the last 20 minutes or so. Perhaps at least 24 hours prior next time dieter! ;)
That was really good, I didn't have a chance to do the last broadcast was I was really happy to see a podcast version. I really liked hearing every ones thoughts and I agreed with a lot of them.

Being a Windows Mobile guy I knew just about everything there is to know about the Fuze, so nothing really blew my mind about with the Round Robin. The Bold was the stand out device to me though...which is saying a lot as I never once before gave Blackberry's a single thought.
The podcast was great. You guys should definitely do this more often.
Agreed, I think you guys should do these podcasts in the "off-season" too. Maybe every quarter just as a touch-base to see what's going on in the rest of the smartphone world.
Nice work showing the good and bad points of each phone. Definitely gives food for thought before choosing my next device.
good stuff
the only one i did not really like was the treo, still its a good and stable phone
excellent.. so when is the next podcast?
Thanks for all the great insights! I look forward to the next round robin.
Towards the end of the podcast, Dieter made a comment to the effect that RIM is not going to be going away from their "Java based" OS and therefore, that's a very bad thing.

I'm not terribly familiar with BB devices, but what exactly is bad about the OS architecture on the BB?

Was Dieter's comment a shot at the fact that it's Java based, or simply that he's disappointed to hear that RIM is not going to be overhauling the OS?

Thanks,
Good stuff

Thanks for all the great insights!
