Review: Extreme Agenda for PPC

Birdsoft (see my Extreme Text review), who has been making WM smartphone (read non-touchscreen) software for years now has recently adapted one of their most popular productivity apps to the WM professional platform: Extreme Agenda (v3.1) ($24.95).

Admittedly, the default calendar, contacts and the rest of the PIM features on WM are a bit underwhelming. Sure, for basics they do their job but what really attracts people to WM in the first place is one word: customization. They want specific colors, only certain days to show, linking between notes & contacts, specific views, etc. And wherever there is a whole, there is some crafty 3rd party developer waiting to fill it. Unfortunately for you the consumer, you may be overwhelmed at the choices: Agenda One, Agenda Fusion, Pocket Informant, Agendus….yikes. How to choose and where does Extreme Agenda now fit in the picture? Read on for the full skinny!

WebMessenger IM: Now Free / Mini-review

So when it comes to WindowsMobile, we are slowly running out of programs where we don't have five thousand choices to choose from. Mobile Instant Messaging is one of those categories (though sadly, perhaps the best one, Verichat is now defunct).

One app that has been around for quite sometime is WebMessenger. But we haven't used it around here at WMExperts for one major reason: it was payware. Gladly, that has changed in the last week and now, for some untold reason, the sucka is completely free. Any catch? There doesn't appear to be--no ads, no spam according to their user Privacy Policy, although they are quick to point out there are no guarantees that it will remain free forever, but there's no reason to think that will change anytime soon.

So what the heck, lets give her a spin and see what we find. Read on to see my brief tour and review!

If you are one to carry your phone in your pocket or purse vs on your belt, then you will probably be very interested in Seidio's Super Slim Case for PPC 6800 to help protect it from being dropped, scratched, or dented.  I have used hard molded cases similiar in design and function in the past with a varity of phones with various results.  I am happy to say the Seidio's attention to detail and their excellent thought out design has proven to be a very sound purchase.

Review: Motorola Q9h Global for AT&T

The Motorola Q9h (see our Video First Look Here) is clearly an improvement over its precedessor, the Motorola Q. It's more than just an “improvement,” though, it's an incredible improvement. Motorola has replaced what I considered to be probably the worst Windows Mobile Smartphone on the market with a model that seriously contends on the other end of that spectrum. Even though Motorola has essentially turned lead to gold, they've managed to hang on to what was actually good about the original Q.

The Q9h isn't all wine and roses, though. There are a few issues that, though not deal-breakers for me, might be deal-breakers for you. Read on for the full review.

Review: Seidio 3-in-1 Retractable Stylus for Mogul, XV6800

We have all lost a stylus. We have all found ourselves spinning around in vain to find a pen to write down a phone number. Anyone who owns a Sprint Mogul or Verizon VX6800 has wished at one time or another that the stylus was just a little bit longer. Well, Seidio has risen to the occasion yet again to meet all of these needs in one nicely designed 3-in-1 Retractable Stylus Pens. ($19.95)

Review: OnCourse Navigator 6 (OCN6)

Posted on Wednesday, Feb 6, 2008 by Malatesta

Driving-Day

Continuing my newbie trek into the world of GPS, first I reviewed some hardware for the Treo 7xx series and now I'll take a look some software, namely OnCourse Navigator 6 (OCN6) - $89.95. How did I fare with this admittedly simple-to-setup GPS solution?

OnCourse Navigator is just about as *simple* as you can get for setting up a relatively sophisticated GPS software mapping solution on your WM device. One caveat though: it only supports 320x240 or 240x320 resolution, which means square 240x240 Treo screens are, regrettably, excluded from this otherwise excellent software (**Update:** WMExperts now carriers this version which is compatible with WM Treos)

What do I mean by simple? Read on below...

The Sprint Mogul has been out for little while now, but with Verizon's recent release of their own version called the XV6800 I wanted to offer a review of the Mogul (Henceforth we'll call it the "PPC 6800.")

My sole goal in this review is to share my experience of the PPC 6800 as frankly and honestly as possible, so that anyone who is trying to decide if this phone is right for them will be able to look at the pros while weighing out the cons and decide if this is the right phone to meet their personal and professional wants and needs.

The PPC 6800 is a monster of a device, but is it right for you? Read on for the full review!
