Review: Blueant Supertooth Light Bluetooth Speakerphone

Posted on Thursday, Mar 27, 2008 by George Ponder

BlueAnt Supertooth Light

Along with making good sense to keep both hands on the steering wheel while driving, several States have enacted laws prohibiting cell phone use while operating a motor vehicle unless you use the phone with a hands-free device.

The popular hands-free method is a Bluetooth headset but not everyone is a fan of these headsets. There’s the installed system with cradle, speaker and microphone but not everyone wants something hard-wired to their car. It can be frustrating to find a comfortable, desirable way to use your phone hands-free while driving.

Enter the BlueAnt Supertooth Light Bluetooth speakerphone ($79.95). The Supertooth Light is a visor or vent mounted, all-in-one device (speaker and microphone) that’s installed in minutes and can be transferred from vehicle to vehicle in the matter of minutes.

Review: Monaco Rubber Trim Case for Cingular 3125

monaco

While the Cingular/AT&T 3125 (HTC StarTrek) may not be the newest or most feature-packed Smartphone on the market, it does have something of a cult following. Many of the people that I’ve met that have one actually wanted to buy a second one to have when their first bit the dust.

If you are one of those people who have an emotional attachment to your 3125, or you just use one…read on for a review of the Monaco Rubber Trim Case ($7.95)

Review: Facade Today Screen Customizer

Posted on Tuesday, Mar 25, 2008 by George Ponder

Generic Facade Skin

A few months ago, I made the switch from Windows Mobile Pro (Treo 750) to Windows Mobile Standard (Samsung BlackJack II). There were several reasons behind the move as well as several hesitations. One of which was the differences in home screens. I was really going to miss the WM Pro “Today” Screen. I grew accustomed to have appointments, tasks, new mail, and other points of information available at a glance.

I quickly learned about a third party plug-in for WM Standard that was very similar to the “Today” Screen. Supporting Smartphone 2003, Windows Mobile 5 and Windows Mobile 6 devices, Facade ($14.95) is a highly customizable, tab-based home screen plug-in developed by SBSH software.

Review: Blueant v12 Bluetooth Headset

Posted on Thursday, Mar 20, 2008 by George Ponder

Blueant v12 without Earhooks

Bluetooth headsets range from the plain to the feature riddled. The BlueAnt V12 LCD Bluetooth Headset ($59.95) falls into the latter category. Decked with features such as vibrating alert, caller id, ten number redial storage, and capability of pairing with up to five devices this is not your average Bluetooth headset. Oh, and did I mention it had an LCD display?

Review: Samsung WEP410 Bluetooth Headset

Samsung WEP410 with charger

Looking for a bare knuckled, compact Bluetooth headset? Look no further than the Samsung WEP410 ($59.95). Out of the box, the first thought that came to my mind was “tiny”. Weighing in at 7.4 grams the headset is a mere 1.75 inches long it has plenty of features and straight forward operation.

Review: Headphone Adapter by Palm

Posted on Friday, Mar 14, 2008 by Malatesta

Articles 08 03 13

Oh sure, nothing like that annoying 2.5mm headphone jack that is pretty standard on mobile devices these days and if you have yet to migrate to the slightly more expensive, but totally worth it, A2DP Stereo BT (see recent reviews here) then you may be wanting to use your high-end fancyschmancy wired headphones. Luckily if you skipped that coffee and doughnut this morning you might be able to afford a solution: the Palm headphone adapter ($5.95).

Hit that link to read this tiny review with some...adrenaline-pumping actions shots? But only if you can handle the excitement as we're not going to be held liable for weak hearts here at WMExperts.

Review: Moto Q Cradle by Motorola

A few reviews back I extolled the virtue of using a charger cradle for your 700w smartphone and today I’m back with a second review, this one for the Moto Q ($29.95) made by Motorola themselves (note: this is not for the Q q9 series, though they are similar).

Care to see some nice pics and my thoughts on this Q-ccessory (is that a word? It is now!), then click da link.

Review: AT&T Tilt

Tilt Open

At first glance the Tilt may look like just a minor upgrade to its predecessor, the 8525, but that would be a seriously wrong assumption to make. The ATT Tilt offers 3G, GPS navigation, Push To Talk, and the coolest sliding keyboard format. This is the phone that I have been envious of from afar for a long time now and was extremely excited to have the opportunity to have hands on for several weeks to write this review.

But with all the wow factors this phone offers, I still found myself wishing that for once they would get it all lined up just right to offer the best phone possible. The potential to hit a grand slam is certainly there. As a result, I fell prey to its wow'ness factor, was personally impressed with its stellar line up of features, yet was still wishing it had a little more umph.

Review: Motorola MOTOROKR S9 Stereo Bluetooth Headset

Posted on Thursday, Mar 6, 2008 by Malatesta

Set2

Last time I reviewed Motorola’s S805 DJ-style Stereo BT headset and gave it high marks for quality, performance and battery life although the form-factor of the headset (large, over the ear) may be off-putting for some.

Along comes the Motorola MOTOROKR S9 headset ($79.95) with a much smaller profile perfectly suited for exercising or the daily commuter.

How does it measure up? Read on for my experience, which is a mixed bag of pros and cons.
