Cellet Horizontal Noble Case

It’s hard to beat a good leather case. You hope to find one that is well stitched, cut just right and holds the phone securely in place. The Cellet Horizontal Noble Case ($19.95) hopes to meet all those needs as well as being budget friendly.
Cellet is a relatively unknown case manufacturer but I have to admit that the Horizontal Noble Case makes one heck of a first impression when taken out of the packaging. I tested the case with a Motorola Q9h and the leather construction appears to be of high quality with no loose stitching present.

The flap seats in place magnetically with a post on the flap magnet matching up with a recess in the case magnet. The case has a soft leather/suede like lining that provides a good bit of protection to the phone.
In placing the Motorola Q9h in the case for the first time, it fits tight as expected with a leather case. After using the case for a day or so, the leather relaxes a bit making it easier to place and remove the phone. The case has a large cut out on the bottom left corner that helps in removing the phone but also exposes the charging/sync/headphone port so you don’t have to take it out of the case to charge, sync or use headphones with the Q.

The flap took some effort to close and at first I found it difficult to match up the post on the flap magnet with the recess on the case magnet. The leather did relax a bit and it did become easier to secure the flap but the slightest bump knocked the magnets out of alignment. Personally, I would have preferred to loose the exposed magnets and just have two beneath the case lining.
The Collet case uses a wider belt hook than most cases and I found it to sit a little more secure on the belt. It rode comfortably and close to the hip. The wider clip seems to keep the case from pivoting as much as cases with the standard sized clips.

Overall Impression
There are a lot of horizontal cases out there to choose from and the Cellet Horizontal Noble Case ($19.95) is definitely worth considering. I would have preferred a different styled magnetic closure. The post/hole style is only secure if the post sits firmly in the hole. The slightest bump in the flap or if the post doesn’t seat firmly, makes the flap insecure.
Personally, I would like to see the case offered in a color other than black but that isn’t meant to take away from the quality of the case. If you are looking for a well constructed, economical, relatively secure case, the Horizontal Noble Case from Collet should make anyone’s short list.
