Sprint: Go fast, turn left, buy a Touch Pro 2

Sprint Touch Pro 2 on its NASCAR siteWe really have zero doubt that we'll see the Touch Pro 2 on Sprint, and this just about wraps it up. We've gotten a glimpse at the leaked phone itself. We seen ROMs that point to its release. And now it's appeared on Sprint's NASCAR site for, natch, the Sprint Cup. [via Engadget]

It's a little odd that the phone's listed as the Rhodium, which as we all know is its HTC codename. (The asterisk, for the record, points to the Rhodium as one of the "devices (that) support NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile full audio and video content.")

So we'll avoid saying that Sprint's revving its engine on the Touch Pro 2 (or getting ready to drop the green flag) and instead say that it's coming, get ready.

And if you ain't first, you're last.

ahh man this is killing me. i want a release date and i want it to be soon.

Sprint is releasing the phone on September 8th

Ahhhhhhhhhh! I need a release date! My upgrade is in October...around then would be awesome.

I REALLY DON'T KNOW Y THERE IS SO MUCH SECRECY ABOUT THE LAUNCH DATE OF THIS PHONE?! Sprint ALWAYS alienates it's customers. Y?! RELEASE THE PHONE ALREADY SPRINT CAUSE PEOPLE WILL LEAVE FOR T-MOBILE!

that is sooooo true i almost left sprint when i saw that t-mobile released it first

They should take a hint from Apple. Tell everybody when you're going to release it and they'll be lining up at the door the night before. Well, maybe not quite the same hype as an iPhone, but I'm due for a new phone and it would be nice to know when I could pick it up!

Assuming TMobile releases this phone on Aug. 12, my question is How did TMobile leap frog over ATT, Sprint, and Verizon to release this phone first.
TMobile could really make a splash with this phone especially if the others wait till late fall to release their version.

Ummm...leave Sprint for Tmobile?!! Not anyone with a lick of tech sense. While this phone will be popular with many..its main target is business clients. If you travel even once or twice a month you will soon run into a no 3G tmobile area. And I'm talking MAJOR cities like the one i frequent, Charlotte NC. Sprint's TP2 will have the 3.5mm audio jack, while tmo will most likely not. Have you looked at the tmo version?! the worst looking TP2 so far! To not let sprint of the ugly hook, that back cover on the leaked photos is hideous also..lets hope it doesnt make it on production...but its should be an easy euro back cover purchase should it do show up. With this being a business-centric phone and Sprint being a business-centric carrier..its imperative that they get the phones well stocked and ROM operation smooth out the gate. Remember HTC just recently moved to 3.5mm version TP2 production and just released a firmware hotfix for TP2 the other day. There's strong support for the rumored release date of Sept 3rd and/or 6th.

I belong to the Sprint Application Developers, they just posted the specs for the HTC Touch Pro 2
