Sprint Touch Pro 2 Specs Surface

While the earlier report that the Sprint Touch Pro 2 would hit the shelves in mid-June was blown out of the water (we did say "may" drop in mid-June), specifications for the phone has surfaced over at Sprint's developer site. Not that the speculation Sprint was getting the Touch Pro 2 needed more credence the specifications gives it more of an "official" feel that the HTC Windows Mobile phone is headed to Sprint. We just don't know when.

Not much stands out with these specifications that we didn't already know. The Sprint TP2 will apparently launch with Windows Mobile 6.1. Then again, if this drags on much longer Windows Mobile 6.5 might come into play. Thanks goes to Terry Owen for sending us this tip via our contact form

If it's launching with Windows 6.1 then maybe we'll see it sooner rather than later, and I'm still betting on a 3.5mm headphone jack

There is no mention about the (outside USA) GSM combatability that was included in the early specifications of the phone! Does it mean that Sprint changed their mind, especially that it was going to be software-only blocked to be used with US cariers?!!!

WVGA Display, WinMo Pro 6.1, 3.2 camera, large slide-out QWERTY, WiFi, International Quadband

Note the Internation Quadband....it's still GSM compatiable.

Alas! This phone looks spectacular and is finally seeming to be more of a reality everyday. I'm happy to see so many fans such as myself that choose to say nay to the Pre in light of another marvelous phone coming from HTC. Window 6.1 or 6.5 matters little to me because it appears certain that upgrading will be no problem. As the previous person mentioned...RELEASE DATE??!!

Projected release date from my VERY reliable sources is Sept. 8, but, like any hot phone release date, that is subject to change.
