With the actual release date hovering around this weekend/next few days, it's nice to know that if you call Sprint Telesales (877-639-8351) you can place your order today for the device.

The product ID, if they have trouble is: PTR800HK.

All the info we have posted in the last few days still stands: price is $599.99 with $75 or $150 off for 1 or 2 year upgrades, plus a $100 mail in rebate.

Some of those on SERO are being asked for a verification email from a Sprint employee, but these seem to be the exception right now. SERO customers do not have to switch plans to get the phone.

The good news? My order is expected to be here tomorrow, so stay tuned for that arrival and un-boxing if true.

No word on the exact date on in-store purchases, but it'll probably be sooner than later.

All right. Shouldn't have a problem swapping my 755p in for one in a few days, then.
We are sticking to whatever the official release date will be for the rumortastic giveaway, FYI
Just ordered mine, although I would like to add you only get the $100 rebate if you are eligible for the 2 year plan as a current subscriber
If the official release is indeed July 13th - can you tell who's in the running for the final drawing?
Just ordered mine. Not due for any discounts other than the Palm rebate of $100 plus a tad bit of minor discounting. The computer showed delivery of Friday the 11th, but out here in Paradise, I doubt it. Now to order the card.
I'm in Towson, MD picking one up now! Ya! :o)
Just got off the phone with Sprint. Treo 800w is on the way. If you are on SERO and you call, be ready to give them the referring email address.
I was just in a store today, *almost* got one ... They were going to sell it to me (had it IN HAND) but the system wouldn't take the order, they said because it was before launch date more than likely.

At least I know they are IN STORES NOW.

They offered to sell it to me at retail cost (no thanks)...

Ordering on phone now.
Scratch that...Wouldn't get here till Monday if I ordered over phone now...

BUT, they did say that FOR SURE I could buy one in the stores tomorrow.

FYI
I just talked to a few telesales folks at Sprint . . . ALL said they are "taking reservations now" that they won't ship until the 13th release date.

I also talked to 5 local stores. All have them in stock, one of them I was able to see the phone. They said they only received 2 of them in, soo...But ALL of them were REALLY ANAL about not selling it until they get their "playbook" on Saturday which tells them when they can sell it. So, not sure how the guy above is picking one up now in Towson, MD...Maybe he's got a buddy willing to risk their job for a friend?

Anywho...YES... I WANT THIS PHONE DAMN IT!
wait...so is the phone $249, or $349 after a new 2 year contract? $599 - $150 (2 year contract discount) - $100 = $349. I thought there was 2 $100 rebates, one instant and one mail in. Am I wrong?
The 800W is $249 with a 2 year contract. But wait, it gets even better. I just ordered mine (Thursday, July 10th, 7pm, shipping tomorrow) via Sprint telesales. Not only did I get the $249 price, but when I casually mentioned that I was considering getting the iPhone instead, they also threw in a $50 credit to my account to match the price of the iPhone and then gave me another $18 to pay for the activation fee. So I just bought the new 800W for $181. Sweet indeed!
