We won't see it here for a while, according to the final specs posted by GPSAndCO. The problem is that it will be a TriBand GSM phone -- lacking a necessary band to get the phone up and running here in the states. It's a real pity, too, because we like it:

Given that the Samsung SCH-i760 was already kinda sorta released over a month ago, the news that it’s officially available online tomorrow and in stores on November 2nd is a little underwhelming.

After reading Andrew’s full-throated defense of the Treo over at Treonauts, I was slightly abashed to realize that the Treo really does still have a very nice form factor - it’s just that Palm got it right early and hasn’t managed to significantly improved on it. To wit: * Mobility Today is one among many sites showing a photo and video of this sweet-looking Samsung device.

In our Verizon Rumor Roundup I foolishly guessed that the i760 would arrive after Verizon’s other Windows Mobile devices while Phone Arena guessed September.

Engadget Mobile (et al) notices that the Samsung SCH-i760 has popped up on Verizon’s site, in the form of a little photo demo gallery.... the handset formerly known as I can do it all, is now up on Verizon’s — in some half-hidden way — site.

Call us crazy, but we're going to try it - a leaked ROM update for the Blackjack. Looks like it indcludes HSDPA too, so it's pretty hard to turn down. A quick search should yield it for you fairly easily. Otherwise, the mere existence of this bugger should mean the official one may come sooner than we feared.
> *if you're a BlackJack owner and don't want to wait until the official ROM update for WM6 on the BlackJack (expected Q3-ish of this year), it's floating around the web somewhere (hint, AT&T Samsung forums). Get it while it's hot - because I'm sure it'll be taken down soon!

Look at that hotness and tell me you don't covet it. It looks like the i600 (the internatiol version of the Samsung Blackjack) will be getting an update soon. Samsung is trading super-thin for some slider action, but I approve wholeheartedly. The specs look good - UMTS, HSDPA, WiFi, Triband GSM (900/1800/1900), Video Telephony. Sadly, it doesn't look like that's going to be the case given that little triband spec.
Hopefully, though, Samsung does have a US version in the works.
More pics after the break.
> *While not too much is known yet, Mobile Gazette says, the i620 will be a triband (only) GSM/GPRS/EDGE phone as well as supporting UMTS (supported bands are unknown), featuring two cameras (one with 2 megapixel and photo light). It's expected to be powered by Windows Mobile 6 and closed, the phone measures something around 59 mm width and 94 mm height while opened it's 131 mm:*

So we have seen now that the Samsung i760 has been approved by the FCC. That makes me pretty happy because I was fond of it when I got to handle it at CTIA. Some better news, though, is that Samsung's German division just committed itself to releasing six (count them *six*) windows mobile smartphones in 2007. Some of that love has got to make it's way over here.

Carousel, Samsung's custom home screen they developed for the non-US SGH-i600 (that's a Blackjack with WiFi, basically) has made the rounds before. Now that people are actually getting their hands on the little wonder, screen shots of the great interface are coming around again. *Me Likee*. I like it enough that I spent more time than I care to admit yesterday hunting around the web looking for somebody who has provided a ROM dump of the i600 so I could install this on my own Blackjack. No joy yet, but if you find something *please* let me know.

The update will prettify some icons, improve roaming capabilities, and erase all the data on your device (standard for a ROM update), so be sure you're confident that your data is backed up before applying the update.
> *Samsung has released a update for the system software on the BlackJack, a Windows Mobile Smartphone exclusively offered by Cingular Wireless.*

Today was supposed to be the day for Windows Mobile 6, but after the embargo on was was broken late last week, a lot of the details are already widely known. However, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a bunch of The Portégé G900 also has a fingerprint sensor and connectivity-wise has triband, HSDPA, 3G, EDGE, Bluetooth and WiFi.

Here's some shiny that you won't be able to use for quite awhile, the Samsung SPH-M8100. It's a WiMax phone (hence the "quite awhile" bit) with some great features - including a tethered modem mode and a TV-Out (!) for showing off your multimedia on a big screen.

The latest - a quick little competition between the Cingular 8525 and the Samsung IP-830w. For me, it’s basically apples and oranges, the 8525 is a horizontal slider on HSDPA and the IP-830w is a vertical slider on EVDO.
