iGrip Universal Fit Flexible Mount - Profile View

If you are anything like me, you are either addicted to your Windows Phone or you’re in denial about it. A side effect of this addiction is that you don’t want to put your phone down any more than you have to, which can sometimes lead to problems. One example would be the fact that using your phone while driving can be dangerous and even illegal. There are however some legitimate reasons to have your phone where you can see it while driving. Being able to see the caller id when a call comes in or using traffic or navigation software are both valid uses of your cell phone while driving. To be able to accomplish this safely you really should have a mount, such as the Universal Fit Flexible Mount from iGrip.

We’ve reviewed iGrip products here before. I use their Sturdy Swivel Mount and have loved it ever since I got it. The Flexible Mount gives you some additional options for use. For one thing it holds the phone farther away from the glass, making it more practical for vehicles with a deeper dashboard.

Many people (myself included) have looked at various vehicle mounts wondering, what kind should I get? Do I really want to attach something to my windshield? Is it even safe (or legal) to attach something to my windshield? I can’t really help a whole lot with the last question, other than to say that you need to check with your state to find out if a windshield mount is legal in your state. I will try to help you decide if this mount is a good choice for you after the break.

I will start with the facts. The **Arkon Dash Mount** ($29.95 from WMExperts) is a bean bag style mount that uses its weight and friction to sit on your dash without sliding around. The mount itself attaches to the base using a suction cup. An included adhesive hook attaches (optionally) to the back of the base for safety.

With all of the hype over cell phones and vehicles, more and more people are using (and are even required by law to use) various forms of hands free devices. On the other side of the coin though, there are times when having your phone within reach is necessary. One example in particular is the use of GPS software on your phone. We at WMExperts have done a couple of reviews recently on GPS software that is available for Windows Mobile, but how do you make use of the GPS functionality and still maintain a reasonable level of safety?

iGrip makes an array of vehicle mounts for mobile devices. The style you choose depends largely on what type of vehicle you drive and what your needs are. This review will take a look at the iGrip Universal Fit Sturdy Swivel Mount. Click on for the full review.
