SBSH, makers of Facade, continues its upgrade march through the product line. PhoneWeaver, which is a "profile and phone management solution," has been updated to version 2.0. PhoneWeaver can be used to customize a number of settings and create a profile. This gives you the ability to manipulate a number of settings in just a few simple clicks.

New features include a much-improved touch-friendly interface featuring sliding panels. PhoneWeaver supports automatically changing profiles based on your time, location, agenda (Outlook Calendar), or sync/charge status. Support for various new features in Windows Mobile 6.5 and various performance enhancements are included as well. Visit SBSH for the full version history.

SBSH PhoneWeaver can be purchased from the WMExperts store. New purchases of PhoneWeaver are $14.95, with an upgrade price of $6.95; a 12-day trial is also available.

Facade gets bumped up to 2.1

Facade Logo

SBSH Mobile has announced that Facade has received an upgrade to version 2.1. For the uninitiated, Facade is an interface customization tool for Windows phones without touchscreens.

We love us some Windows Mobile Standard around here. Customizing and tweaking can be a little more difficult on Standard than Professional, making a tool like Facade pretty handy for those of you that want more control over the look and feel that your phone provides.

In addition to the bug fixes, language updates, and performance and stability improvements; Facade includes some new or improved features in version 2.1. Access to an online Skins Arena will allow you to find and install a skin that fits your personality without forcing you to build your own. The Skins Arena can be accessed from your device or from a computer. Analog Clocks are also supported in 2.1, and are skinnable as well.

Facade 2.1 is available as a free upgrade to registered users of Facade 2. Those of you still using version 1.x can upgrade to 2.1 for $7.95.

Review: SBSH GoNews Touch

SBSH GoNews Touch - Channel List View

One of the things that I like about technology is that it is often the simplest solution to the simplest of problems that affect our lives the most. A perfect example of this is RSS feeds. RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a method of delivering or receiving a series of articles in a central location. For example, I read an odd assortment of computer, gadget and sports news every day. Instead of visiting each site multiple times throughout the day, I can make use of the provided RSS feeds and a feed aggregator (I personally use Google Reader) to read all of the news in a central location.

Because of its simplicity, RSS works extremely well with mobile devices. A quick search on this site will return reviews of several RSS readers that offer differing features for various prices (this is one reason why we love Windows Mobile as a platform). One product that has caught my attention recently is GoNews Touch by SBSH.

GoNews Touch Setup ScreenGoNews Touch Main Screen

A few days ago SBSH released a teaser video for their newest application, SBSH GoNews Touch, and today the software developer officially released the news reader.

GoNews Touch will let you subscribe to your favorite RSS channels, update them (manually or on a schedule) and swipe your way around them. We were able to test drive the beta versions of GoNews and found it to be a simple, straightforward application to keep up on the latest news, sports, financial news or any other of your favorite RSS feed.

Follow the break for a few more screen shots and a product tour video.

Review: SBSH Calendar Touch v2.1

SBSH  recently updated it's popular Calendar Touch to version 2.1. We looked at the previous version of Calendar Touch (v2.0) a few months ago and found it to be a feature-rich alternative to the stock calendar application of Windows Mobile. There was little we could find wrong with version 2.0, with the minor nit that returning to the current date was a little cumbersome. Readers reported a few bugs, including not being able to navigate easily with a stylus and that swipe navigation stops when you are on a day where the appointments extend beyond the single screen. Follow the break to see how version 2.1 shakes out.
