If you're the kind of person who just has to wait for official fixes to come out, well, fine. We understand. And official fixes are starting to trickle out for the 2016 SMS bug that we helped bring to light.

HTC has hotfixes for the Sprint Touch Diamond and Touch Pro that in all liklihood do the exact same thing our workaround does. But if you need the HTC stamp of approval, well, here you go.

Edit: The links to the CAB files are being squirrley, so just use the ones above.

Edit 2: Odd. Now the HTC pages are borked. Hang in there, guys.

Fire sale on Verizon Windows phones

Verizon Wireless $99 deals

That's right, folks. For a limited time only (we presume) you can get the HTC Touch Pro and Touch Diamond, as well as the Samsung Omnia, for the low, low price of $99. As you well know, all three of those phones are on their way out, so the discount isn't unexpected.

(The Samsung Saga is still at $199, btw, the SMT5800 is $99 the Ozone and Q9m are $49, and the original HTC Touch is $9.99.)

That all comes along with a 2-year contract. So if you don't mind signing away 730 days of your cellular life for phones that while good, aren't the latest and greatest, head on over to Verizon.

Thanks, Elliot, and everyone else who sent this in.

Review: Verizon Touch Diamond

After reviewing the HTC Touch Diamond 2, taking a look at Verizon's version of the original Touch Diamond felt like a step back in time. Why Verizon waited so long to come to the table with the Touch Diamond is a mystery. But as they say, "better late than never." Right?

The Touch Diamond isn't a new phone and while most will be familiar with it, once it's branded by a service provider a phone can take on a life of its own. It's no secret that the Touch Diamond runs Windows Mobile 6.1 and comes loaded with TouchFLO 3D. But what other changes did Verizon throw onto the Touch Diamond?

Find out after the break.

Touch Diamond gets hotfixes for audio skipping, reminder repeats

Posted on Monday, Apr 20, 2009 by Phil Nickinson

TouchDiamondHTC has released a couple of hotfixes for the original Touch Diamond that should take are of a couple of annoying bugs. (As opposed to the bugs we like, I guess.)

The first hotfix takes care of problems a number of people were having with audio playback skipping.

The second involves the Sounds and Notifications settings, specifically that you couldn't uncheck the Repeat Reminders option. So, apply this fix, and all should be well.

Note that these are hotfixes and not a full-on ROM update. Hotfixes install just like any other program. So if you hard-reset your phone at some point, you'll need to reapply the hotfixes or risk having the problems again.

One solution that has been mentioned before is HTC’s Multifunction adapter that gives you a slew of options for connecting all manner of devices to your device of choice. Verizon HTC Touch Diamond

The HTC Touch Diamond is finally out on Verizon, it's got a microSD card slot, and it still costs $300. And that's all we're gonna say about it.

Verizon Touch Diamond will sport an SD card, $300 price point, inferiority complex

Verizon Touch DiamondJust a heads up that we're still expecting Verizon to finally release the HTC Touch Diamond on April 10 – that's Friday, as in tomorrow.

The $300 you'll have to spend (after a $70 rebate, no less) to get the thing is downright highway robbery, though, when you consider that the Touch Diamond 2 will be making an appearance pretty soon. Sure, Verizon's will have an SD card slot, and that's nothing to sneeze at, seeing as how everyone else must make do with the 4 gigabytes of internal memory. But that price point is still a little hard to swallow.

Any of you folks out there in TV land planning on picking one up tomorrow? Let us know in the comments.
