Excuse us while we take a minute to wrap our minds around this one.

First we had TouchFlo 3D on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1.  Now it appears turnabout is fair play as the X1 panels have been ported onto HTC’s latest and greatest, the Touch HD. [via wmpoweruser]

This Frankenphone is brought to you by the fine folks at XDA Developers (natch), and they note that this is far from a set-it-and-forget-it skin on the HD. There's no way to change to a new panel, and there are reboot issues. But it’s definitely a pretty big step toward turning the panels into a viable option for HTC phone owners.
