Here's a cool little app for all your Subway riders aout there.

Tube has just hit Version 4.0 for Windows Mobile Pro and includes subway maps for Barcelona, London, New York, Paris, Rome and Washington.

Drop $9.99 and you'll get maps and info on:

  • Entertainment
  • Hotels and Restaurants
  • Museums and Galleries
  • Parks and Water Features
  • Places of Interest
  • Shops and Markets
  • Streets
  • Stations

The app is GPS-enabled, so it's not just a static map, though the U.S. cities definitely are limited right now.

Review: SPB Traveler 2.0

For those of us that are die hard Windows Mobile users, there are a few companies that develop software for our handhelds that really stand out. I’m talking about the kind of company that, when you hear that they are working on a new project, you get goose bumps. SPB Software out of St. Petersburg, Russia is one of those.

SPB recently made headlines with their release of SPB Online, a mobile content portal; and the announcement of their foray into developing for the Xperia X1 Panels. With two new products in such quick succession, I for one wasn’t expecting anything new from SPB for a while.

One of SPB’s flagship products (along with SPB Mobile Shell) is SPB Traveler ($29.95). Now in version 2.0, the appropriately named Traveler is designed to facilitate traveling, in particular on an international basis.

Keep reading for all the details.

Quick Review: Belkin Mini Surge Protector with USB

We don't normally post on every new thing that pops up in the WMExperts Store, but this little sucker just appeared in our New Products RSS feed and we had to have it. Check it, it's the Belkin Mini Surge Protector with USB Charger ($24.95). It's pretty straightfoward: 3 AC plugs, 2 USB charging ports (but not a hub, obviously), and surge protection for the entire lot of it. You can rotate the plug 360 degrees to get it to fit in those tough-to-reach outlets too.

Every hotel room I've ever been in has been anemic on outlets -- this solves that problem nicely and offers extra protection, thusly:

  • EMI/RFI Noise Filtration: 150kHz~100MHz to 40dB reduction
  • Joule Rating: 918J
  • Maximum Spike Current: 36,000A
  • Number of Outlets (total): 5 (3Ac, 2 USB)
  • Powered USB Output: 5V/500mA each port
  • Response Time: less than 1 nanosecond
  • UL Clamping Voltage: UL1449 800V

The unit is perhaps just a bit larger than I'd prefer, but you get that surge protection to make up for it. Belkin also promises to warranty any damages (up to $75 grand) caused by surges. Plus, $24.95 ain't bad.
