AT&T Touch Pro 2 and Touch Diamond 2

The AT&T news keeps on a'comin' this weekend. After getting an idea of when the HTC Touch Pro 2 (aka Tilt 2) may be released, and then seeing it show up in inventory, the Boy Genius Report now says it has pricing information for it, as well as a couple of other anticiapted phones. Let's do this the easy way:

  • Tilt 2: $299 after contract and $50 rebate; $499 retail.
  • Touch Diamond 2: Codenamed the Warhawk and already seen at the FCC, will be known as the Pure and will go for $199 after contract and $40 rebate. Retails for $349. Update: BGR's updated and it now appears that the Diamond 2, er, Pure will go for $149.99 after contract and $50 rebate. (See the pic here.) The retail price still stands (and is pretty darn good).
  • Garmin-Asus Nüvifone G60: It lives! And it'll cost $299.99 after contract and $100 rebate. Will retail for $549.99.

No word on release dates for the later two phones, but remember that we're expecting the Tilt 2 in about a month.

(And remember, folks, the above picture is just an early render of the Touch Pro 2 and Touch Diamond 2 on AT&T. We're actually expecting the Tilt 2 to look like this.)

Video: Touch Diamond 2 with WinMo 6.5

HTC Touch Pro 2 with Windows Mobile 6.5

Here's 10 minutes from The Inquirer of Windows Mobile 6.5 running on the — ahem, Windows phone — known as the HTC Warhawk, aka the Touch Diamond 2. [via Engadget Mobile]

For the most part, it's nothing we haven't seen, despite the phone running what purportedly is the final build of Windows Mobile 6.5. But we do get a good (albeit brief) look at the Windows Marketplace for Mobile, a nice run-through of Microsoft My Phone (which we've been enjoying for a while now).

Speaking of My Phone, the interview drops a line that My Phone will be a part of Live Mesh at some point, and that there may be a premium buy-in for more storage.

Microsoft Tag is included on the ROM, which makes sense if you're serious about pushing that standard. We also get a good look at Flash running on the latest version of Internet Explorer.

Peep the whole video after the break.

AT&T-capable Touch Diamond 2 at the FCC

HTC Touch Diamond 2 at FCC

That's right, folks, there's a an HTC TOPA210 (aka the Topaz, aka Warhawk, aka Touch Diamond 2) lurking round the Federal Communications Commission. And lo and behold, it's sporting the 850MHz and 1900MHz bands used in the U.S. by AT&T.

Now, that doesn't mean that AT&T will ever release the Touch Diamond 2. They didn't (and still don't) carry the original Touch Diamond. But it does mean that if you manage to find one of these phones either through importing or some deal with the devil, you'll be rocking 3G speeds here.

Now, AT&T, about the Touch Pro 2 ...

And, finally, renders of AT&T's Touch Pro 2 & Touch Diamond 2

AT&T Touch Pro 2 and Touch Diamond 2

Ask and ye shall receive, dear readers. While these are "just" renders and not the in-the-flesh mockups we've seen of the T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon Touch Pro 2s, what we've got here are renders of what supposedly will be coming to AT&T, courtesy of Engadget.

The purloined spec slides are after the break, but everything's about what we've been told, save for launch dates, of course. And we'd expect the home buttons you see on here on the Touch Pro 2 (Fuze 2?) and Touch Diamond 2 to most likely be replaced by the Windows flag button. Also interesting is that AT&T finally may be going with the Diamond line after passing on the original iteration.

And in case there were any confusion that HTC phones get coolest code names out there, the Touch Pro 2's been dubbed the Fortress, and the TD2's the Warhawk.
