Verizon HTC Ozone

Lo, how we dream of they day when a manufacturer will name a phone and a carrier will just use it. But that day is not today.

And so we bring you, courtesy of the Boy Genius Report, the Verizon Ozone — aka the HTC Snap/Willow/Maple. No release date or pricing, and it's safe to say it won't beat Sprint's variant out the door. But it does have WiFi, is a world phone (CDMA and GSM radios), and sports IE6, visual voicemail and VZ Navigator (which points to the dreaded locked-down GPS.)

HTC Willow on Sprint

Well lookie what the cat dragged in. If our powers of reason and deduction are correct, we appear to be looking at a Sprint-branded HTC "Willow," courtesy of PPCGeeks user OrionsBuckle. This should be the S511 we've been expecting and will be Sprint's variant of the slightly more sexy Snap.

It's got the almost-standard 528MHz Qualcomm processor, a 2MP camera and what looks like 256 megabytes of  ROM (storage) and 128 RAM, with about 70MB available. Also note the Inner Circle button on the lower right of the keyboard. And as for the battery, well, OB puts it this way:

i wish i woulda took a picture of the battery on this thing...its GIGANTIC!! its 1500mah or however you spell that lol.... bigger then the TP battery and the screen is smaller.

OrionsBuckle says it'd have a June 7 release date, which falls in line with Sprint's usual Sunday launches, and it also matches up with that leaked Sprint roadmap we saw. Price should be $149, about $50 under the Treo Pro.

Loads more pictures after the break.

Sprint 2009 smartphone roadmap

Here's a look at what Sprint supposedly has on deck for the next two quarters of the year, thanks to the ninjas over at the Boy Genius Report.

You'll note the Palm Treo Pro, which was just released. Slated for the second quarter is the HTC Willow, which we expect from those monster leak sheets to be a front-facing QWERTY messanger phone. Probably not as up to snuff as the Maple, but we'll see.

In Q3 is the Samsung Ace II. Dieter took a look at the original Ace about a year ago and was plesantly surprised.

Finally is the HTC Rhodium, which we expect to be the replacement for the Touch Pro.

What's it all mean? The rumors, conjecture and rampant speculation that we may see some of the new HTC phones on Sprint in the next couple of months is looking better. Or, ya know, we could all have egg on our face.

Spec sheets after the break, including for the Cedar, which we don't even see on this roadmap.
