Toshiba's got more plans for Windows Mobile, including capacitive touchscreen

The Toshiba TG01 still hasn't gotten into the hands of the consumer (though we're growing more impressed with it every day), and already we're getting wind of its follow-ups, along with a couple other Windows Mobile devices with some exciting features. The shakedown, after the break, from Greek site Techblog: [via]

Toshiba TG02

The TG02 looks to be about the same as the TG01, flat, with a 4.1-inch WVGA touchscreen, 3.2MP camera and Windows Mobile 6.5. But get this, it'll be waterproof. Everybody in the pool! Look for it the early fourth quarter of 2009.

Toshiba TG03

The TG03 follows its younger brothers but will have a 5-megapixel camera and a 3-inch speaker. The roadmap puts it somewhere in Q4 as well.

Toshiba L01

Then there are the big boys. The L01 is a monster 7-inch WVGA device with a QWERTY keyboard and Windows Mobile 6.5. If the grainy thumbnail is any indication, the keyboard is removable.

Toshiba K01

The K01 is a 4.1-inch slider with a 3.2MP camera, Windows Mobile 6.5 and a capacitive touchscreen. Yeah, you read that right. And remember that Dieter saw Windows Mobile running on a capacitive device back at Mobile World Congress. And while it wasn't really working, we can't help but wonder this: Could it be positioning itself for Windows Mobile 7 next year? Our fingers are firmly crossed.

Toshiba K02

The K02 is a 3.5-inch clamshell with a front-facing 10-key pad and LCD screen. It'll have a 3.2MP camera, Windows Mobile 6.5 and a resistive touchscreen.

That's quite a full plate indeed. We can only hope that U.S. carriers give these phones a good look.

Nice Toshiba...that's the ticket. Think BIG, powerful and bold. Can't wait to see these.

Extremely doubtful that any US carrier will bring carry any of these devices, however if Toshiba does manage to pack some US GSM 3G frequencies in there (meaning at&t, T-Mo extremely unlikely) I may do the unthinkable and consider switching to the death star.

The K02 hits the sweet spot for me, looks like a swivel screen similar to the Universal. Sticking to the smaller screen reduces the footprint but the K01 is definitely a nice device as well.

I constantly complain about the small screen size on WM devices. However this may actually be a bit too big for my liking.

Hopefully we'll get something in the 3.5" sweetspot.

3.5-3.8 seems perfect. These may be thin enough to make up for the size. I hope HTC can get their next next gen devices this thin...
