Weekly Software Wrangle - Week 4
Hitch up the software wagon and let's head out on the range. It's time once again to Wrangle this week's new, updated and free software for WM Professional and WM Standard.
This week we are featuring new software for WM Standard, PBA Bowling and Flyder US and UK. Updated software includes SmartReg and USB Modem. Freeware includes All Mobile Mines SE and Maufait InstaFind.
WM Professional new software includes a look at mDesktop and Touch Commander Suite. Updated software includes PhatPad 4.5 and Fizz Traveller. In Freeware, we'll take a look at the apps available from www.spoontools.com.

WM Standard: New
First up is PBA Bowling v1.0 by Concrete Software, Inc. Special recognition goes out to Lightning Toads Productions, LLC who provided their Toadlet mobile game engine to Concrete Software. Concrete Software licensed the Toadlet Engine from Lightning Toads to incorporate many features, including life-like physics, into PBA Bowling. WM Standard: Updated
SmartReg for Windows Smartphone v3.4 by Speed Software is a registry editor that allows you to turn back time! It is also the first updated application for WM Standard this week.
Forgotten that registry change you made last week that you really wish you'd never made? Not a problem if you made the change with SmartReg. Simply look in the change history list, view the change and then undo it!

WM Professional: New
Now it's time for the new WM Professional applications. First we'll take a look at a new desktop app that fits well in the mobile world: mDesktop v1.0 from MotionApps.
mDesktop creates a nice marriage between the functionality of your smartphone and the larger (and often more typing-friendly) environment of your desktop computer.
If your Smartphone is your medium of communication, mDesktop will clear the channel.
By integrating your Smartphone with your PC you can now make calls, send SMS messages and use your Smartphone data and applications from your PC's big screen and keyboard in a fun and user friendly way.

Next is Touch Commander Suite by MobilityFlow.

WM Professional: Updated
Starting things off in the Updated WM Professional apps this week is Phatpad 4.5 by Phatware.
PhatPad is an advanced notes organizer for Microsoft Windows Powered Tablet, Desktop and Pocket PCs. It allows you to draw pictures, jot text notes, or put a mixture of pictures and typed text on a virtual scratch pad. The program uses new digital ink technology, which provides a very smooth ink flow, so it feels like you’re writing on a piece of paper. While working with the note editor, PhatPad offers standard editing commands, such as Undo, Redo, Cut, Copy, Paste; 25%-200% zoom and special Fit to Screen mode; Draw, Select, Erase, and Change modes; customizable pen palette; variable pen width; customizable toolbars; variable page size; and page preview mode. You can export your notes and drawings as bitmap, JPEG or PNG images, email them as file attachments, and transfer them between Pocket PCs via infrared. This week I'm doing something special in this Freeware section by highlighting a developer who took my solicitation for software news to task and emailed me with some information about a couple FREE applications from his website.
