We've known about the upcoming Windows Marketplace for Mobile for quite some time now and that it'll only be for WM6.5 users (boo). But up till today when you launched the store app in your janked WM6.5 ROM, nothing happened or you got a "coming soon."

Well at least according to MrHawaii at ppcgeeks, he was finally able to access the store today and even downloaded Pandora.  He says:

Today I clicked on it and it said CAB needed to be installed. After install, voila! Marketplace open for business. I already downloaded Pandora successfully. There are not too many fun apps yet and most of them come with a charge. But the layout of the store was very finger friendly and very snappy.

We assume that this may be Microsoft just testing the wheels a bit and unless you have a WM6.5 ROM that didn't have the store removed, you're out of luck. Still, nice to see this starting up.

Two more images after the jump!

Are we going to see this ripped and usable on 6.1?

it cannot be ripped and put on WM6.1 because it uses the IEmobile to render the app store, same for the new widget system. so unless the 6.1 rom that you're using has the new IEmobile cooked into it, theres no way you can run the app store.

I've been using 6.5 for a while now and its quite good (the experience actually depends on how good the cook who cooked up the rom is). chances are you're phone can support 6.5 there's probably a huge amount of roms already made for your phone. check out xda-develers or ppcgeeks on how to upgrade your phone.

i clicked my link and im still getting the coming soon screen

Yeah, store is down again. Looks like MS is just testing the waters and someone (bored) got through by luck, lol

@LT: No, don't hold your breath. They're gearing this for only WM6.5 phones, but I suppose anything is possible.

windows is getting their market more and more larger throughout the world. I appreciate them in this purpose. lawsuit cash advance
